Project manager

GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION:

Reports To: President
Direct Reports: Lead Carpenters
Schedule: Responsible for your own schedule. Typically requires 40-50 hours per work week
Compensation: Salary + Performance Pay
Benefits: Accrual Based PTO, Paid Holidays

ROLE SUMMARY: The Project Manager is responsible for setting objectives, organizing resources and giving clear direction to a team of talented carpenters. A leader, communicator, problem solver and ultimate finisher that exemplifies Nine Thirteen’s mission and values.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS PROFILE:

  • 3+ Years of scheduling experience in a similar field

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator (i.e. open, honest, direct and accurate)

  • Energized, creative and hungry to be a leader to a crew of amazing carpenters and people

  • Knowledgeable in all facets of finish millwork, other trades, and how to sequence

  • Commitment to using technology whenever possible on the job to automate and build efficiency

  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and manage changes

Training for use of the following:

  • Company Issued technology for use in the field (ie iPad, laptop) which will include training as needed.

  • Training for use of the following: 

    • Crows Nest for scheduling

    • Google Apps (calendar, gmail, drive)

    • Share My Toolbox for tracking company tools 

    • Bluebeam Revu a PDF markup and editing software for the construction industry

    • Procore a project management software used by many Builders

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes ownership of the scope of work. Knows the ins and outs of each project and plans to exceed expectations

  • Creates schedules for field crews based on project timing and budget

  • Accountable for the safety of field crews

  • Leads team efforts towards quality, efficiency and time management through positive example

  • Masters the art of “the handoff” to the Lead Carpenter

  • Supplies information from the field for accurate material ordering

  • Open and accurate communication with co-workers, clients, vendors, supers/builders

  • Is well prepared and runs weekly field and schedule meetings

  • Weekly review time clock descriptions for accuracy of field carpenters

  • Submits weekly reports for materials for additional work and implements change orders

  • Leads team efforts towards quality, efficiency and time management through positive example

  • Frequently refer the team to our company mission and be an example of positive company culture
