CNC Operator/Programmer
GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION:
Reports To: Shop Manager
Schedule: Typically 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Compensation: Hourly
Benefits: Accrual based PTO after 12 weeks, Paid Holidays

ROLE SUMMARY: Programs, sets up and operates our CNC machine. Maintain equipment, adhere to safety standards. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, inputting the design specifications, creating machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. Work is completed on time, on budget and to the Nine Thirteen Standard of Quality.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS PROFILE:
Physical abilities must include manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as cabinets, doors, panels, beams and other materials
Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
Effectively manage time
Must possess a basic cabinetmaker’s toolkit including hand and power tools
Thorough understanding of wood products and the operation and installation of hardware
Vast knowledge of woodworking joinery techniques
Ability to read shop drawings
Experience using saws, routers, shapers, planers, jointers, edge banders and hand tools safely
Works well independently and collaboratively as a team
Able to work diligently and efficiently
Able to self-manage time and tasks in order to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality
Willing to try new techniques/methods; receptive to suggestions
Desire to continuously learn

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run/Operate Biesse Rover K 1536 CNC
Perform routine maintenance per Biesse’s automated schedule on CNC and troubleshoot any other maintenance issues that may arise
Able to use and understand various CAD/CAM software programs including SWOOD/Solidworks, B Suite (Biesse’s software) and Sketch Up
Able to make changes to drawings from Engineering
Able to create tool paths, based on woodworking knowledge, to cut materials
Able to create accurate one off drawings within the software available to write corresponding tool paths
Complete weekly logistics runs
Assist in the shop with building/assembly of products, if there is not a current task on the CNC. This may include sanding, milling, assembly or other woodworking practices
Able to use and understand all machinery within the shop. This includes planer, jointer, table saw, band saw, panel saw, miter saw, wide belt sander, routers, etc.
