journeyman Carpenter


Reports To: Lead Carpenter
Schedule: Typically 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
Compensation: Hourly

ROLE SUMMARY: As an intermediate carpenter at Nine Thirteen you have the ability to be an essential part of our field installation team. In this position you will hone your technical and problem solving skills while building your efficiency of processes in the field. As part of the field team you will be helping to teach and to learn when called on.


  • Physical abilities must include manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, a good sense of balance to work on ladders and scaffolding as well as the ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as cabinets, doors, panels, beams and other materials

  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately

  • Tool kit appropriate to level of experience

  • Reliable vehicle for organized transport of tools and commute to job site


Training for use of the following:

  • Google Apps (calendar, gmail, drive)

  • Share My Toolbox for checking out of company tools

  • TimeClock our proprietary app for time tracking


  • Install complex door units

  • Install pocket door framing and hardware

  • Install up to 3 piece crown mouldings

  • Install multi piece casings and baseboards

  • Ability to thoughtfully layout and build site built storage for basic and complex closets

  • Layout and install complex wall paneling of all types

  • Install complex entry door units

  • Install complex built-ins

  • Install complicated hardware

  • Layout and install coffered ceilings

  • Install basic stair, stringers, skirts, treads, risers, mouldings, straight handrails, baluster layouts

  • Build simple cabinets including doors & drawer installation

  • Layout and install complex columns and beams (recessed/raised panels, decorative mouldings)

  • Ability to teach up to Support Carpenter level
